Nikola Lazarkov did not build only for himself – he also wrote. His work "Memories from Before and After the Liberation" is one of the few reliable testimonies to the events surrounding the liberation of Dupnitsa, which makes his home more than an architectural object: here, history was literally lived.
The house itself combines characteristic elements of Neoclassicism, refracted through the local urban tradition. The oriel balcony, the round window above the main entrance, and the double-sided staircase with a metal bannister create a sense of elegance. At the same time, the roof with its timber structure and wide eaves reveals the essence of this architecture: not the replacement of tradition with modern ideas, but their intertwining. The façade is rendered in a restrained yet refined style, with delicate ornamentation and a clearly expressed symmetrical composition. The roof adds to the building's overall look and feel, highlighting the shift from traditional building styles to more modern ones.
