The Cherry Festival celebrates Kyustendil's cherry harvest on a weekend in the second half of June in the town square. Organised by the Municipality of Kyustendil, it fills the square with fresh cherries and cherry dishes in a cheerful tribute to fertility and gastronomy. Tourists, craftsmen, merchants and residents all gather for a sweet early-summer treat.
